Rex Cavies were one of the first breeds I fell in love with. I started off with a pair of adult sows from Julie Kenrick, one of which, Tikka, had exceptional type and a lovely short, harsh coat. She won BIS on her first outing but developed a cyst which put an end to her show career.
Since then I have always had a Rex or two in the shed. Currently I have just 3.
Curly Sue is from Pickersleigh stock. She has done very well at shows and was BIS at the Rex CC Stock Show at Eastergate Dec 2008. At the moment she is out of show coat, but should be right for the end of March - I hope!
Ruby. Bred by Rex Matthews
Ruby was given to me by Rex as a Birthday present. She has grown into a beautiful pig, whith a super, harsh coat. She doesn't really enjoy being handled, but likes a fuss in the hutch.
Sadly I can't show her as she developed a Cyst. Shame as she is gorgeous. She lives in a group with Pecan.
Pecan is just gorgeous. She loves a fuss and is the first to the front for a chin tickle. I've shown her in open shows, but she seems to suit the pet classes better. She revels in the attention.
